Story Of Devanda

Devanda is a 10 years old girl child from Chengannur, Alappuzha District in Kerala.
She was diagnosed to have FOP by Dr Vrisha Madhuri, Professor, Paediatric Orthopaedics Department, Christian Medical College, and Vellore. Soon, about 2 weeks later, she had flare ups and was facilitated through FOP trust to get an online consultation with Dr. Vrisha Madhuri. Following this, appropriate medications were given and Devanda recovered fully.

Devanda, along with her mother attended the FOP meeting on 2nd December, 2023 at Bengaluru organised by FOP India Trust.

During this meeting she underwent an initial assessment by an Orthopaedician and a Dentist.

A gain in February 2024, she developed severe flare ups with breathing difficulty. Her mother immediately approached FOP trust for medical consultation.
She was directed to and received an online consultation with Dr.Vrisha Madhuri Madam, following which was admitted in Amara hospital, Thirupati.
She was diagnosed to have pneumonia and was treated. Aer a week of treatment and recovery she was discharged. The family thanked FOP Trust for the timely help and continued support.
