July 2025 was a landmark month for FOP Trust India—from expanding medical collaborations to supporting patient care across the country. Every phone call, consultation, and hospital visit added to the growing momentum of India’s FOP response.
Strengthening Patient Care
Throughout the month, FOP Trust facilitated over 15 consultations—both online and in person—with Dr. Vrisha Madhuri. Patients like Devananda, Sanskriti, and Pranav received timely support for flare-ups, breathing issues, and post-surgery reviews. The Trust not only helped schedule appointments but also covered consultation fees for families with financial constraints.
Children were advised to use helmets for head injury prevention, spirometers for respiratory health, and follow dental and orthopedic care protocols. Medications were adjusted based on ongoing follow-ups, ensuring personalized attention.
Reaching Hospitals, Building Networks
The Trust visited Tamil Nadu State Children’s Hospital and Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Bengaluru. Directors and heads of departments at these institutions welcomed the opportunity to refer FOP cases, helping widen the referral network. In parallel, over 45 orthopedic doctors from a Bangalore conference were contacted. Many agreed to refer FOP cases and support Trust initiatives.
Empowering Families
Parents across India—from Maharashtra to Manipur—reported improvements after following the Trust’s advice. Database updates ensured that new patients like Sandiya and Mokshith were tracked and guided properly. Even patients with diagnostic uncertainty, like Sivaji, received help for advanced genetic testing.
Looking Ahead
FOP Trust India’s July activities reinforced one clear message: every flare-up treated on time, every doctor connected, and every patient guided brings the FOP community one step closer to early diagnosis, safer treatment, and hope.
