From October 17 to 25, Selva Kumar Vellore led a busy week of field operations for FOP Trust India:
- 17 Oct: Documentation completed at the Bengaluru office. Met Mr. Sunil Ji to plan referrals through pediatricians and official FOP letters.
- 18 Oct: Met Dr. Arulalan (Senior Pediatrician, Child Care Centre Vellore) and handed official referral letter. Coordinated with Lions Club officials for Polio Day program arrangements.
- 19–20 Oct: Received a call from Haryana about a suspected FOP child and prepared for consultation post-Diwali. Submitted referral letters to Vellore CMC Hospital’s Paediatrics and OG departments.
- 22–23 Oct: Facilitated two new online consultations for Rupam (West Bengal) and Ivansa (Haryana) with Dr. Vrisha Madhuri.
- 25 Oct: Attended Lions Club meeting on World Polio Day at Bramma Gnana Sangam. Released pamphlets on FOP awareness by Dr. Prakash Iyappan (TN Govt Orthopedic Surgeon), received by Lion Er. Devaraj (Regional Chairperson, Lions International).
Takeaway: Every referral letter and meeting creates one more path to early diagnosis.
Selva’s efforts this week reflect FOP Trust’s core value—connection through consistent action.
