September Progress: Partnerships, Awareness, and Database Strengthening

The final week of September highlighted both direct patient care and organizational growth for FOP Trust India.

On the patient front, Sanskriti from Uttar Pradesh had a follow-up consultation after her flare-up. Encouragingly, her range of motion showed improvement, and she was prescribed another course of medication. Meanwhile, Geetika from Andhra Pradesh reported better recovery after her recent treatment. These small but steady updates reassure families that with careful monitoring, progress is possible.

On the outreach side, the team deepened collaborations with community partners. Meetings with Vellore Lions Club and Rotary Club office bearers focused on future MoUs to organize awareness programs. Simultaneously, Vellore City Corporation officials welcomed the idea of integrating FOP education into government health and welfare camps. Pamphlets were distributed directly to the public during one such event, bringing FOP knowledge to new audiences.

Back at the Trust office, work continued to strengthen systems. Missing data from CMC hospital records was collected to improve the accuracy of the FOP database, while structured patient lists with contact details were prepared. Discussions also began with NGOs like Reach India Foundation, exploring future collaboration.

These combined efforts—patient consultations, grassroots awareness, and systematic record-keeping—show that progress in FOP care happens on multiple fronts. Each consultation reassures families, each pamphlet spreads awareness, and each partnership builds a stronger foundation for the future.
