Strengthening Awareness and Systems: September Highlights

September was a month of both outreach and organization for FOP Trust India.

At the community level, the Trust deepened its partnership with the Lions Club in Vellore. During a meeting on September 19, team members spoke about FOP, distributed pamphlets to club members, and later joined a welfare program to raise public awareness. These sessions not only spread knowledge but also built alliances for future awareness campaigns.

Within the Trust office, efforts focused on strengthening internal systems. Individual patient files were created, documenting medical records from both CMC Vellore and Amara Hospital. Dedicated folders were also set up for monthly reports, awareness activities, correspondence with NGOs, and needs assessments. This structured approach ensures quicker response times and better coordination for every family.

Patient updates also brought reassurance. Ashik from Chennai is recovering well after recent pamid therapy. Geetika from Andhra Pradesh, who sustained a forehead injury from a fall, received local treatment and is being monitored with guidance from Dr. Vrisha.

These combined efforts—awareness campaigns, systematic record-keeping, and direct patient support—reflect FOP Trust India’s commitment to strengthening both care and community engagement.
