This week saw several important consultations and flare-up management cases from families across India.
The medical team at Amara Hospital, led by Dr Vrisha Madhuri, ensured that every case was attended with urgency and precision.
🩺 Major Consultations & Treatment Updates:
- Rupam Kait (West Bengal) had a scheduled follow-up. After reviewing symptoms, Dr Vrisha prescribed updated medication. The family expressed gratitude to FOP Trust for facilitating and covering the consultation fees.
- Geethika (Andhra Pradesh) initially postponed her appointment due to her father’s office meeting, but later experienced a significant flare-up in her left shoulder. With this being her third flare-up in two months, she was advised to get admitted to Amara Hospital for pamidronate therapy. She received the infusion and was discharged the next day.
- Naveen Kumar underwent an online assessment with Dr Vrisha. Clinical features strongly confirmed FOP, and doctors from KMC also joined the session. He was advised to take a genetic test, and parents were given a flare-up protocol along with a prescription for emergency medication.
- Sivaji (Madanapalle) had knee swelling after a fall. He was asked to take an X-ray and send it for review to rule out injury-related complications.
- Arzaan (Nagpur) developed a new swelling. Dr Vrisha advised the family to find a local pediatric doctor to administer pamidronate under her guidance. Later, his father reported that pamidronate was not available locally and asked if Amara Hospital could courier it. This will be checked with the pharmacy tomorrow.
- Mayeshree’s father requested a follow-up appointment, and Amara Hospital staff were contacted to arrange it.
This week reaffirmed how rapid communication between families, FOP Trust, and Amara Hospital ensures timely and safe flare-up management.
